Our flushable nonwoven is a premium plant-based hydroentangled material engineered for flushable wet wipes, moist toilet tissue, and personal care products requiring sewer-safe disposal. Manufactured using advanced hydroentanglement (spunlace) technology—a binder-free process that uses high-pressure water jets to mechanically entangle fibers—this fabric is composed entirely of 100% plant-based fibers (wood pulp and viscose), with no synthetic fibers and no chemical binders。
The global flushable biodegradable nonwoven fabric market was valued at USD 1.45 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 3.28 billion by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 9.3%. With volume demand growing at 8.2% CAGR, the market will take approximately seven years to absorb 2026 capacity levels. As the industry transitions from “scale expansion” to “value enhancement,” green manufacturing and application refinement have become core strategic directions. Labelling requirements dominate the regulatory landscape in 2026, positioning GD4-certified plant-based flushable nonwovens at the intersection of three converging market drivers: regulatory compliance, plastic-free composition, and product differentiation.
Our flushable nonwoven complies with the EDANA/INDA 4th Edition Guidelines for Flushable Products (GD4) —the industry‘s most rigorous benchmark for assessing flushability. GD4 contains test methods and strict pass/fail criteria to determine if a wipe can be marketed as “flushable.” Key enhancements over previous editions include the reduction of Slosh Box Dispersion Test duration from 180 minutes to 60 minutes and the increase of material passing through the 12.5mm sieve from 25% to 60%. The certification encompasses seven rigorous tests simulating the complete journey from toilet to treatment plant, including drainline clearance, slosh box disintegration, household pump test, municipal pump test, settling test, and aerobic/anaerobic biodegradation.
A critical distinction often misunderstood by procurement teams: visible disintegration in water does not equal passing certification. Authentic flushability requires simultaneous satisfaction of physical dispersion and biological degradation.
Our flushable substrate is available in two pattern variants, both maintaining full EDANA GD4 flushability compliance:
Plain pattern: Smooth, uniform surface offering gentle, streak-free cleaning—ideal for sensitive skin applications
Embossed pattern: Textured surface enhancing liquid capture and providing gentle scrubbing action—ideal for toilet wipes
The fabric is composed entirely of short natural plant fibers (wood pulp and viscose). Wood pulp provides low-cost, highly absorbent characteristics, while short-cut rayon/lyocell balances absorbency, structural integrity, and cost. The material utilizes the irregular sawtooth shape of native plant fibers and the water-absorbing, swelling, and segregating properties of cellulose fibers to form the necessary use strength and rapid water-washing dispersibility. The binder-free hydroentanglement process uses no chemical binders, no fluorescent agents, and preserves natural fiber properties, ensuring a hypoallergenic, residue‑free result ideal for skin-contact applications.
2025–2026 marks a watershed moment for flushability regulation:
US (WIPPES Act): The proposed federal WIPPES Act mandates that non-flushable wipes must carry conspicuous “Do Not Flush” labeling, creating a clear market division: only products that pass stringent testing protocols can confidently claim “flushable” status.
EU Green Claims Directive (GCD) : The GCD mandates that environmental marketing claims be scientifically substantiated, requiring independent third-party validation with traceable documentation.
Standards convergence: Standards Australia explicitly builds its national standard upon GD4 test methods, while Belgian and Spanish authorities have adopted GD4 provisions into law. Spain's UNE 149002 standard requires both GD4 dispersion testing and mandatory “Do Not Flush” labeling for non-compliant products.

Produced on Industry 4.0 spunlace production lines with real‑time quality monitoring, our flushable nonwoven delivers consistent basis weight, uniform absorbency, and reliable tensile strength batch after batch—critical for high‑speed converting operations. Hydroentangled wetlaid production, which uses high-pressure water jets to entangle fibers, dominates installed capacity in 2026 and remains the most practical manufacturing route for flushable end products.
The fabric is compatible with standard converting equipment including slitting, folding, stacking, and packaging machinery. Customization support is available for grammage (50–100 GSM), pattern (plain/embossed), and width to meet specific OEM/ODM requirements for toilet tissue, personal care brands, and private label flushable wipes manufacturing.
